What are the Side Effects of the MeRT Treatment?

Generally, the side effects of MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) are a few and mild. Side effects
are most common during the first two weeks of treatment, then tend to subside.

The most common side effect is mild tension headache at the stimulation site, and it is easily treated with standard over-the-counter medication available for headaches.

Other possible side effects of MeRT are hyperactivity, fatigue, insomnia, irritability, and agitation. They all usually subside after the patient adjusts to treatment. Patients, or their caregivers, should communicate all noticed side effects with the technicians and doctor. Treatment protocol can be modified and slowed for any intolerable side effects.

Any brain stimulation treatment carries a minimal risk of seizures. Concerns about seizures should be communicated with the Doctor during the initial electroencephalogram.

Note that certain contraindications make MeRT prohibitive.
